Fifty years ago we were married at John's home in Beverly Hills, California. For our honeymoon, we hitchhiked overland to through Europe and Persia following Marco Polo’s route where Suzanne met Jesus in Bamiyan, Afghanistan, in front of the huge Buddha’s built in the 6th century. A few weeks later John committed his life to Christ in Kabul at the Dilaram House, a YWAM outreach to hippies. This year, we mark twenty-five years in Namibia and are thankful for the vitality and strength to continue this wonderful ministry to the poverty stricken children of Katutura at Community Hope. Here at our new Teachers for Africa headquarters in Lancaster, Pennsylvania John continues his work with clay. His sermons on God, the Master Potter have touched thousands. Suzanne is an artist too. She writes, paints, and draws animals and people. Together, we rise early and start their day in prayer. Lancaster County, donates more funds per capita and sends out more missionaries than any other county in America. Pray for us as we reach out to people to help support, volunteer and serve at Community Hope, Namibia.

One year ago, we moved Community Hope Ministries to a new building on Kindergarten Strasse. The new facility, is called The Lighthouse. Jesus said, “You are the light of the world.” The Lighthouse shines God’s light out to the poor and needy kids who desperately need to be transformed - Romans 12:2. In poor communities children suffer the most. Hungry and tired they arrive at our gate for a healthy lunch and a peaceful place to study and learn. Hands-on Bible instruction teaches them to love God and know His Word.

One of Community Hope School’s graduates who works at the Lighthouse, Andila, has become an assistant coach in our archery team wants to attend a YWAM discipleship Training School in Windhoek. He is an excellent archer who won the top award amongst all the coaches. He is an inspiration to the children who come every day for after school activities. At The Lighthouse, the Bible is a focus that gives our students hope for their future and an assurance that God is real, and cares for them. This is a home for them, that’s filled with love and good food; where they feel safe and are taught the Golden Rule, to treat others the way they want to be treated.

If you would like to help Andilla attend the YWAM DTS you can make a donation at www.communityhopeschool.com
