Clay, Pray, Read

I try to keep up with art and ceramics worldwide. You can follow me on instagram @hunterpottery. Last month I read of a program at The Clay Studio in Philadelphia called “Clay, Play, Read.”



I was excited and gave them a call. Yes, you can call people in the USA from here. CPR was just a part of their many faceted outreach into Philly. www.theclaystudio.org/clayplayread As we plan our new programs English literacy and sound Bible knowledge are two of our main goals. By merging Bible stories and playful clay projects with Suzanne’s passion for literacy and other craft projects we hope to inspire a greater love of literature, art and the Bible. By using pottery making as a draw, we will teach reading comprehension and expression to our youth using the Judah Bible Curriculum, www.judahbible.com a 13 year program that takes students through the bible each year eventually covering all its major stories and themes. As the program matures, the students will learn not only better reading and pottery making skills but the principles of entrepreneurship necessary for success. Please pray for this new ministry opportunity. We will need the right staff with specialized skills in Art, Ceramics and Literature to make it work.
